I'm going to give you a couple of snippets, first one, book 2 in the Inteli series, the next will be in a Contemporary, May/December romance called Winning her Love, and lastly will be from a series I am writing up from one of my notebooks about demons being the good guys and angels the bad guys.
PLEASE remember these are first drafts, so they haven’t been edited.
Snippit one. Inteli 2
Daphne was damn tired, she’d delivered two sets of twins and been called in on three emergency caesarean, not to mention the appointments she’d had in-between. She was finally going home, well, after she did some quick notes on her office computer. Lately it felt like she never left the hospital. For once Daphne was gratefully she didn’t have a family, because with the way her career was lately she wouldn’t have time for them. She didn’t have time for anyone.
Running fingers through her blonde hair she walked into her office plonking down on her seat and turning on her computer. She needed to right these notes down before she forgot them. Staring at the bright screen as it flickered Daphne blinked trying to focus on the task she had come in here for. Her eyes wouldn’t cooperate and she fought to keep them open. Coffee, she needed a good strong cup otherwise she’d fall asleep and wouldn’t wake for weeks. Standing, she stretched smiling when Beth a nurse who was on her team came in with two steaming cups in her hands.
“I thought you could use this. I saw you walk by the nurse station and you looked like a zombie. I’m on my break. I thought we could go out the back and get some fresh air.”
“Beth you’re and angel.” Daphne went to Beth and took the black coffee off her. “Let’s go. The night air will do me some good.” Taking a big sip of her coffee Daphne followed Beth as she turned and walked towards the back exit.
The night air was cool and added with the coffee was giving Daphne the kick she needed. They sat together on a table that looked out at the car park. “Mmm, this is so good. I don’t think I’ve stopped since I was woken late last night to delivery twins being difficult.”
“You need to go home Daphne. My God, didn’t you do a fourteen hour shift the night before?”
Daphne racked her sleep deprived mind. “Yeah. I went home and had at least four hours sleep before I was called in.”
Beth shook her head. “I have no idea how you are still awake. This is my last shift this week and I’m on vacation for a week. I have worked two double shifts to help out with being away and I’m exhausted.”
Daphne smiled at Beth, she was younger than her by a good five years maybe more. Beth had dark red hair and freckles that spread over her petite nose. She was also a single mother of a daughter. “Truthfully Beth, I don’t know how you do it. It’s easy for me as I don’t have a child at home.”
Beth shrugged. “I’m lucky I have my sister. She is a God sent. I’m lucky she works from home and can look after Lisa for me. It should be easer next year as Lisa will start kindergarten.” Beth sighed. “I wish I had a man to help but…”
Beth’s voice trailed off and she gazed up, her eyes became big blue pools fear. Following her gaze Daphne shrieked as a big round bright light come over them. A pull tugged at her and Daphne screamed as she started to rise. Beth was yelling beside her as the bright white light lifted them both up in the air.
Terrified Daphne grabbed Beth, as she gazed franticly about for someone to get help. This close to midnight Daphne knew as dread settled over her that no one would be about. They had security cameras and she prayed that someone was watching them, but as the light grew brighter and the ground became further and further away she struggled to keep her eyes open. Beth’s screaming was slowly stopping the higher they got and the air thinned. Daphne become light headed and gave up and looked down for any help, she turned her gaze to the force that was making her and Beth float. The light now was flashing orange and white in a large circle with silver shiny metal surrounding it.
Letting herself succumb to the now light feeling she closed her eyes and told herself to conserve her energy. She would need it for the fight ahead, because she wasn’t going to die or be harmed without good fight.
Snippit two Winning her Love
“No. Chad don’t. Enjoy the party it’s the start of your season. Come on, introduce me to another guy? A nice guy who likes kids and doesn’t want to take me to his room the first time we met. I’m ready to find someone.”
He stared down at the small hands on his chest as Lana stood in front of him blocking his path. Her touch sent a burning need through him so much so his body ached for the petite bundle of fire blocking his way. Fuck this shit. He needed to stop being a pussy and claim what he knew was his and Lana was his. “No fucking way.”
Lana stepped to the side and linked her arms with his moving them in the opposite direction than Tim who he’d been going to beat the crap out of.
“Fine, help me find your sister so I can tell her I’m out of here. I’m calling a taxi and going to go pick Olivia up and then we are going home.”
“I can take you home?” He wrapped his arm around her waist and walked towards the exit.
“Nah, this is your party. Well, sort of, you are their star player.”
Chad rolled his eyes he may be the star player but he was sick of parties like these, where he was the center of attention and nameless faces praised him and fawned over him. There was only one person’s attention he wanted and she was currently in his arms with no idea how he felt. Lana didn’t care he was a famous athlete, she didn’t care what money he earned or what his fame could get her, she hung out with him because she liked him, Chad Douglas. He chuckled because he bet even after all these years Lana still didn’t know what position he played or how much he earned. “I’ll stay if you can tell me what position I play?”
“Hey.” She playfully waked his chest. “That’s not far. You know I’m not into sports.”
He winked down at her loving the easy banter they had between them. “If you don’t like Rugby League why did you come to a Rugby League party?’
Lana sighed and pulled herself out of his hold but he wasn’t giving her up. “I didn’t. Steph wanted to come and at first I said no, but she nagged me. I still said no. I told her I had no one to look after Olivia, but the other day she stopped taking no for an answer and went on and on about how your parents were eager to meet Olivia and wanted to babysit. I still was unsure, but she went off her brain when I said to her that I’d been on five lunch dates, as Olivia was in daycare then and I was ready to start dating, she convinced me to come here as it will be the place to meet men.” Lana rolled her eyes. “As you can see she dragged me here. Steph’s words and I quote, ‘we will go to my bro’s party and find you some hunk to get it on with.’ I didn’t have a say after that. You know Steph, so I thought I’d come and support you. If I found a hunk of a man all the better, but if not I knew I’d be happy just to see you. I haven’t seen you in years. So here I am for you.”
“Do you even watch my games?” He smiled liking that Lana was here for him.
“Not on the TV.”
He laughed and walked towards the exit again. Lana had been to one, maybe two of his games when he first started but hadn’t come back again even though he had family seats. “You and Olivia are coming next week to my first game of the season.”
“Umm…we are?” She bit her bottom lip sending a jolt straight to his cock as he homed in on the action. God he wanted her. No more fucking around. Lana was going to be his.
Snippet 3 from my demons
It was days like this when it was so cold that it was snowing that Lexie would give anything to afford a car. She wished she could redo her teenage years all over again. She had apologized to her parents for running off with her ex-boyfriend. They forgave her and had even paid for her secretary cause as she couldn’t get a loan because she was in so much debt. Ben had deserted her as soon as the creditors came knocking at the door. No one knew where he was and Lexie was now stuck paying for all the things they’d bought. Lexie sold everything and came crawling back to her parents at twenty with a massive amount of debt and shame.
That was four years ago. Lexie had worked two jobs for a year to pay off as much as she could. She cut down to one job when her parents paid for a secretary course. She worked hard with her course and got the best grades, so much so her parents paid for little side courses to better her chances at a good job. Lexie was grateful to her parents, and she promised once she finished paying off her first lot of debts she would pay her parents back.
Four months ago Lexie joined Devils Inc. as a secretary for one of the higher bosses. It was supposed to be a dream job. The pay is high and it was advertised as a nine to five. That had been a lie. Lexie found out why the pay was so high because her boss Greg was a grade A arsehole, who fobbed his work off onto her. Lexie couldn’t afford to lose her job or quit. This job was helping her pay her debts a lot quicker. In another two more years she’d have her debts paid.
The company was part of the fortune five hundred. The owner and CEO of Devil’s Inc. Lucian Samson, bad boy billionaire, was known for turning any venture he was a part of into a success. Lexie knew if she could last the two year and pay off her debts she would be able to get a job anywhere. All she would have to say was she had worked for over two years at Devil’s Inc. and left on good terms.
Lexie glanced at her watch and groaned, she had less than fifteen minutes to place the file on Lucian Samson’s desk and get back to her bag and leave to get to the bus stop. She hurried along the corridor toward the big office doors in sight.
Almost running to the door she gripped the assessment tighter and barged through the big doors thinking no one else would be here at this time. Lexie pause and gasped at the sight before her, Lucian Samson stood naked with three women fawning over him. A redhead sucked his cock and two blondes were moaning and kissing his sculptured body.
At her gasp Lucian’s eyes that seemed to be glowing blue shot from the redhead to stare at her. A wicked grin came over his face before he sniffed the air and growled. In an instant his whole demeanor changed, his relaxed stance turned ridged and his cheeky grin vanished to be replaced by a serious one.
Oh God, she needed to get out of there. Backing up she muttered, “I’m so sorry. I…well…um… I… didn’t see anything.” Lexie was terrified as she swore Lucian grew from his already impressive six something to seven or eight. His jet black hair lengthened and seemed to grow, his skin turned a dark shade of red and his eyes went from there blue to black.
