I have read the first one in this series and this one and loved both. I know you will also.
Hello, I'm Khloe Wren
I live in South Australia with my incredibly patient husband and two daughters.
When I'm not sitting at my laptop writing, I'm spending time with family or friends, kicking butt at karate or feeding my addictions of reading, eating chocolate and drinking Coke.
Enough about me, I'm here to tell you about Becky's Journey, Book 2 Dragons of Feury.
I love a heroine who fights back. The kind of strong woman who takes charge of her own misfortune and attempts to break free – before her man or men can come charging to the rescue. Becky is that woman. With her men drugged and unable to help her she fights tooth and nail to get away from her captors. She isn’t successful, but that’s not the important part. The important part is that she tried. She didn’t meekly go into the night submissively following her kidnappers. Nope, she broke bones and bruised flesh.
To get this scene right my dear husband played a role. I’m pretty sure there are occasions when he regrets he’s married to an author, and other times he thoroughly enjoys it. I’m not really certain which category this falls under! But he and his younger sister were the perfect heights to test where Becky’s feet would land in this scene.
They were both watching TV when I asked hubby:
“If you had your sister over your shoulder in a fireman carry and she raised her legs at the knee before swinging down to kick you with her feet, where on your leg would her feet hit you?”
They both gave me a funny look before I explained it’s for a book…after great discussion and a small demonstration they proved it would catch his lower thigh.
Some days, research can be such fun!!
The Land of Feury has a problem. A virus killed off all their females years ago and a solution is yet to be found. When a group of five unconscious females are found, hope for survival amongst the Dragon Shifters runs high.
Becky and her four best friends are escaping from their stressful everyday lives to go camping in the bush. Fate intervenes and while they are hiking they get whipped away through a portal to The Land of Feury.
Brothers, Drake and Savren, discover one of the females is their Desired. They excitedly set about wooing the strong willed, independent Becky. Their plans do not go smoothly, Becky is kidnapped by rebels and taken from them. Will they be able to rescue their Desired in time? Will they be able to convince the ever independent Becky that having bonded mates is a good thing?

"Don't you fucking dare touch me, you bastard."
She stood back into a fighter's stance ready to take them on. She sent a prayer of thanks for all the years her older brothers had made her spar with them while they perfected their various martial arts phases. The man laughed as he approached her. Once he was close enough, she threw out a fast, sharp heel punch, copping him right over his cheekbone. He growled low and loud, as he raised his hand to cover his injured cheek. She froze under his icy grey gaze. He was furious and Becky wasn't sure what he was going to do next. Before she could get another shot in, she was grabbed from behind by the orange and green dragon, which held her firmly while the man bound her wrists and ankles. She went to verbally lash out at him but he quickly gagged her so she spat fire at him with her eyes. The dragon released his grip on her and the man came toward her, getting ready to sling her over his shoulder.
Even though she was now bound, gagged and about to be slung over this mongrel's shoulder, she was not going to stop fighting. As he put his shoulder into her stomach, she brought her bound hands down hard, hitting his back solidly. He growled as he stood up with her. As soon as her feet left the ground, she bent her legs up at the knee and brought her feet down hard and fast, landing hard against his thigh. He dropped to one knee with an humph as his injured leg gave out. She fell to the ground landing on her back, so she reared her legs up and kicked him in the ribs as hard as she could. He fell to his side with a noise somewhere between a groan and a growl. She rolled to her hands and knees and started to crawl toward the door. She didn't make it far before the large dragon that had tackled and drugged Savren earlier blocked her path. He puffed out some smoke into her face and she tried to cough around the gag as her eyes watered. While she was curled up trying to cough, she was roughly slung over the man's shoulder and swiftly carried out of the chambers. On her way out the door her vision cleared enough that she saw Drake sprawled on the floor in the hallway, his eyes filled with fury and anguish as she reached out for him with her bound hands.
